Office of the Registrar

The Office of the Registrar is responsible for facilitating the registration process and for maintaining and preserving all University academic records. Additionally, the Office of the Registrar protects the rights of students under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

Registration:  Students register themselves for courses using their Student Profile in Banner. Generally, registration occurs in October/November for the upcoming spring semester and in March/April for the upcoming summer and fall semesters. Most changes in registration (e.g., adding/dropping a course, withdrawing from a course) can be done online in the Student Profile, or processed in person with an Enrollment Services counselor in Rodman Hall, Room 249. For further information about registration, see the Registration and Withdrawal undergraduate and graduate pages of this Bulletin. Important academic dates and registration deadlines are available on the Registrar Calendar - https://www.jcu.edu/registrar/about-us/registrar-calendar.

Transcripts:  Students may request official transcripts by one of the following methods: 1) online via their Student Profile in Banner or http://jcu.edu/registrar/transcripts with a credit card; 2) by mail with a downloaded and signed request form (available at http://jcu.edu/registrar/transcripts) sent to the Office of the Registrar with cash or check; or 3) in person with cash or a check. To protect students and alumni, no telephone requests for transcripts will be honored. Transcripts are issued only at the request of the student.

The Registrar's Office offers both electronic and printed transcripts. Electronic transcripts can only be ordered online and are delivered via email within an hour in a downloadable PDF format as long as there are no holds on your account. Printed transcripts are usually processed within 24-48 hours of receiving your order as long as there are no holds on your account. Information on transcript fees can be found on http://jcu.edu/registrar/transcripts.

Access to grades:  Each student has access to his/her own academic record and grades, on a read-only basis, via the Student Profile in Banner.
