Issues and opportunities created by a global economy and managing the risks of globalization. Topics include financial and currency crisis; stock market booms and busts; social and labor unrest; cultural, ethical and legal issues in conducting international business. Emphasizes the application of microeconomics and international economics to illustrate how globalization influences firm performance, strategy, and policy. Elective. Prerequisite: EC 5521 or EC 521 or equivalent (min grade C).
