Grasselli Library and Breen Learning Center
The library houses JCU’s collection of materials for academic study ranging from books to videos as well as its historical and unique collections — the University Archives, Carroll Collected, and special collections. The College subscribes to more than 200 general and subject-specific databases to assist students and faculty with accessing a wide range of information, including ebooks, peer-reviewed journal articles, and primary sources. The library also has a laptop-lending program for student use on the premises as well as a/v equipment, including cameras and video, are also available for loan. The library’s services and collections are freely available for all JCU students, faculty, and staff.
Librarians will assist anyone in the JCU community who needs assistance in locating information. The Grasselli Library’s Quick Search provides easy access to search for print and full-text resources simultaneously across most of our databases. Carrolline is the library’s catalog, which specifically searches Grasselli's print and electronic books and media. We are a member of OhioLINK, the network of colleges and universities in Ohio, providing our community with access to research collections from across the state.
The library offers private and group study spaces, with both quiet and more collaborative study spaces, and a computer commons. Library services and spaces include the Learning Commons (academic tutoring support), Curiosity Lab (new space for creative engagement), Computer Commons, and research help. The library building is also home to the following student support services: Mastrantoni Student Success Center (Academic Advising and Career Services), Student Accessibility Services, Center for Digital Media (CDM), the Entrepreneurship Classroom, Launchnet, Writing Center, and the Den (cafe).
